Employers' Liability Insurance
You have responsibility for the health and safety of your Personal
Assistants while they are at work. Your employees may be injured
at work or become ill as a result of working for you. They may try
to claim compensation from you if they believe you are responsible.
As an employer you have a legal obligation to make sure that you
have at least a minimum level of insurance cover against any claims
resulting from being employed by you.
Employers' Liability Insurance will enable you to meet the cost
of compensation for your employees' injuries or illnesses caused
by working for you whether they are caused at your home or elsewhere.
Any injuries or illnesses caused by motor accidents which occur
while your employees are working for you, may be covered separately
by your motor insurance.
Public Liability Insurance
Public Liability Insurance covers anyone who is in (or near) your
home and is injured or killed. It is often included in building
and/or contents insurance policies but you should always check to
see if you are covered.
Fish Insurance Company
Direct Payments users may use Fish Insurance Company, which has
a specifically designed Personal Assistant Employment Protection
Policy.
